Owner-Operators leased to Empire Express must meet or exceed the following minimum qualifications:
1. At least 23 years old
2. At least one year verifiable over-the-road (48-state) experience within the past three years
3. Valid Class A CDL (Hazmat Required)
4. Owner-Operator must live within the company's hiring area
5. Owner-Operator must be able to pass DOT physical examination
6. No more than three tickets for moving violations or more than six points on driver’s MVR within the past three years
7. No more than two non-chargeable accidents or no more than one chargeable accident within the past three years
8. No unpaid tickets or citations
9. No truck abandonment on work history
10. No more than three jobs in the past three years
11. No DWI/DUI or reckless driving violations within the past five years
12. No suspended CDL within the past three years
13. No past history of drug/alcohol abuse
All applicants are screened by DAC Services for work, drug/alcohol, MVR, criminal and workers’ compensation histories. All past employment histories are also verified.
Tractor Requirements:
Type: Tractor must be a conventional-type tractor
Age: Tractor may not be more than four model years old
Height: Tractor may be no taller than 13'6"
5th Wheel Height: The 5th wheel height may be no taller than 47 1/2"
Length: Tractor must be able to legally pull a 53' trailer
Weight: Tractor must be able to haul a shipment of 46,000 lbs.
